Fort Belknaps Environmental Department GIS Program was started in 1998 and was administered by the Tribal Council under the Source Water Protection grant. A GIS database was created to store and manipulate water quality and stream flow data. Over the years the GIS/GPS Program has worked with each of the Environmental Department Programs and sought out their GIS/GPS needs since 1998. Constant updates are added each year to uphold the geographic database so that each program coordinator can present their recent accomplishments to the Tribal Council.
